Dear Customer,
We are reaching out about upcoming timestamping service changes that may impact standalone Timestamping services and/or customers who have custom signing applications or document readers. The changes apply specifically to the GlobalSign AATL R3 Timestamping URL.
What’s changing effective March 1st?
- Our AATL timestamping root will be migrated from Root R3 to R6 on March 1, 2021 (key length will remain 2048 bit).
- With this migration, we will perform system upgrades and an additional extension for security will be included in the timestamping token.
- Access to the R3 Timestamping URL will be re-directed to the R6 Timestamping URL starting March 1, 2021 until June 1, 2021
Impact and Recommendations:
- Please determine if you are currently using the R3 TSA URL below.
- The additional extension (increased characters) in the timestamping token may impact customers who have developed their own document signing software / readers.
- We strongly encourage testing with our Test TSA URL before March 1, 2021: https://www.globalsign-media.com/e/707663/tsa-v4v5effk07zor410rew22z/4c7dsx/709736447?h=-v-JPUeDstyyZwZO1bJ_iCO422ybBetrF9qRUYBBYys
- Starting March 1, 2021, TSA URLs will include the additional extension in the timestamping token, hence we recommend prior testing.
- If you are currently using the R3 TSA URL, please migrate to the new R6 TSA URL below between March 1, 2021 and June 1, 2021.
